WITH accelerated urbanisation across the globe, half of the world's population - 3.5 billion people - now reside in cities and by 2050, most of the world will live in cities and buildings. City dwellers spend 90 per cent of their lives in buildings.
Against a backdrop of rapid population growth, energy footprints have been rising steadily and can be expected to continue to increase in highly urbanised cities such as Singapore.
