OF late, a slew of macro data has indicated that the US is outperforming major, developed peers.

As the divergence widens with the rest of the world, it appears that the US is quickly turning into the last bastion of the world economy in 2019.

For one, sceptics were recently confounded by the latest manufacturing figures in the US that revealed robust business activity in both the manufacturing and services sectors in September against the backdrop of a sagging global economy riddled with trade feuds, geopolitical risks and economic malaise.
