Problems aplenty for deeply divided South Korea in post-Park era
HISTORY was made last Friday when South Korea's Constitutional Court unanimously ended the rule of impeached President Park Geun-hye, making her the country's first sitting democratically elected leader to be forced out from office.
Two days later, the disgraced but defiant 65-year-old departed the presidential Blue House in Seoul, declaring that the truth of the events that led to her controversial ouster would be revealed in due course.
Her removal was exactly what millions of South Korean protesters had clamoured for months, ever since an explosive political scandal erupted over Ms Park's undisclosed links to a long-time friend with no security clearance and no official position in the government.
