Sudden rule changes send mixed signals to businesses
THE ban on dining-in, which takes effect from today, has led to F&B players scrambling to reconfigure their operations over the last two days.
With less than 48 hours to prepare - the announcement to return to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) was made on Tuesday afternoon - many, like celebrity chef and restaurant owner Ivan Brehm, have been left "speechless" by the move.
In a Facebook post, he commented that the lockdown is a bitter pill to swallow, and wondered out loud how many Covid- 19 clusters have resulted from restaurants globally.
