FOUR years ago, the United Nations picked Dhanica May Camacho of the Philippines as the world's symbolic seven billionth baby in a bid to highlight the challenges of an ever-growing global population.
It was a prescient choice.
It means that we don't have to wait until the middle of the century, when the world population is estimated to reach 9.6 billion, to imagine what the difficulties could be like. For Dhanica and her family, the future is now.
