The duel of the New York billionaires?
Media tycoon Michael Bloomberg joins an already long list of Democratic contenders, but before he can take on The Donald, he first has to take on his party rivals
IN THEORY, Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire and former New York mayor, could be the ideal Democratic presidential candidate to beat President Donald Trump in 2020.
If the boorish and ignoramus Drama Queen who currently occupies the White House is a complete contrast to the studious and classy Barack "No-Drama" Obama, Mr Bloomberg, a mediator by nature and a gentleman, could be considered to be the anti-Trump.
If Mr Trump was a liberal Democrat who transformed himself into a right-wing Republican and a fiery partisan, Mr Bloomberg was a centrist Republican who did not face major difficulties when he decided to re-invent himself as a centrist Democrat and a friendly bipartisan.
