Whistleblowing and exit interviews - useful tools for good governance
CORPORATE governance advocates would surely welcome the news that the Singapore Exchange's regulatory arm intends to formalise corporate whistleblowing by writing it into the bourse's Listing Rules.
This is because having formal guidelines to aid employees in reporting wrongdoing can help companies act early to nip problems in the bud, prevent fraud and wastage and in so doing promote trust.
Corporate whistleblowing provisions and guidance falls under Provision 10.1(f) and Practice Guidance 10 of the 2018 Singapore Code of Corporate Governance.
