AA Group signs MOU with OneAsia for data centre development
The centres will be sited at an industrial-zoned plot at 60 Benoi Road

AA Group on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with private company OneAsia Network to negotiate exclusively for a year towards a potential joint venture, investment or collaboration to build data centres at an industrial-zoned plot at 60 Benoi Road in Singapore.
OneAsia's director and sole shareholder is Charles Lee Chung Tak, the founder and CEO of Hong Kong-based Legan Development and its subsidiaries, including OneAsia. Legan also has offices in mainland China, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
OneAsia is involved in co-location data centre services and connectivity, advanced information technology solutions, including cloud infrastructure, big data and multi-cloud managed services, and cross-border e-commerce practice with direct access to end users in China's consumer market to capture vast B2C potential and big data, among other businesses.
It offers cloud computing and data centre solutions and business intelligence to businesses, and has experience managing data centres in China (including Hong Kong) and Singapore. It has plans to further expand its business in the Asia-Pacific region.
AA Group, which used to produce loudspeaker parts, sold its former business to invest in the property related and construction business instead. Last month, it completed the acquisition of Poh Huat Heng Corporation for S$9 million.
Shares of AA Group finished flat at S$0.024 on Monday.
