AQUIS Group, the developer that's planning to build the world's largest hotel in the tropical Australian city of Cairns, has put the project on review after a related casino takeover fell through.
Aquis "will be undertaking a strategic review of its plans and development timetable over the coming months", the developer said in a regulatory statement on Monday. Its related offer for Cairns' Reef Casino Trust has not received all the regulatory approvals it needs and "will likely lapse" on Nov 28, Aquis said.
