Brexit kills British appetite for Spanish holiday homes as uncertainty weighs on pound

    COLIN Smith wanted to buy a home in sunny Spain - until Brexit made him think again.

    The 40-year-old engineer from London had looked at properties along the Mediterranean coast, researching hot spots favoured by British expats such as Alicante. Then the UK voted to quit the European Union, sparking an 11 per cent plunge in the pound against the euro and putting paid to his holiday home plans.
