Buying spree by Asian, Middle Eastern, other investors blamed for pricing out local buyers

    THE British government plans to identify foreign owners of UK property while Asian and Middle Eastern investors have begun a buying spree outside London.

    Margot James, Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), announced plans to make the UK "the first country to have a public register showing the beneficial owners of property controlled by overseas companies".
