WHAT if your office is located in a super low energy building designed to support both your business goals and environmental commitments? At Keppel South Central, sustainable features and smart technology come together to create a workspace that is as efficient as it is forward-thinking.
As a Grade A commercial development at the gateway to Singapore’s Central Business District, this 33-storey development, located in the heart of Tanjong Pagar, allows companies to align their workplace with corporate sustainability goals while operating in a space designed to elevate productivity. But Keppel South Central offers more than just an efficient workspace. The smart building frees up time for other pursuits, supported by on-site amenities including a rooftop restaurant and bar, an indoor gym and swimming pool, cafes, restaurants and sky terraces.
These features contribute to a vibrant, welcoming environment that fosters community and enhances the urban experience. The design and amenities are intended to make coming to the office worthwhile, offering opportunities for in-person collaboration and networking. This approach seeks to complement remote work options by providing a space for face-to-face interactions and shared experiences.
To reduce its carbon footprint, Keppel South Central boasts a high-performance facade system that will significantly reduce the amount of solar heat gain in the building. It also utilises smart lighting with motion sensors for greater energy efficiency as well as renewable energy.
These green features in the 650,000 sq ft building will also make it easier for tenants to achieve their sustainability targets and save on energy and utility costs. In fact, the energy saved can power about 1,300 homes1 in Singapore for a year, translating to savings of approximately $1.8 million annually2.
With its many innovative green features, Keppel South Central has earned the Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy (SLE) certification, an eco-sustainable rating under the Building and Construction Authority’s (BCA) Green Mark scheme. This means the development has achieved at least 60 per cent energy savings above the benchmark that BCA bases on.
Flexible workspace solutions powered by advanced technology
In addition to its green features, the smart and tech-forward building caters to the changing needs of today’s workforce that desire more flexible space solutions. The building’s technology infrastructure for connectivity and resilience, as well as its advanced data systems and integrated management platforms, improve the tenant experience.
A key feature is the micro-zoned air-conditioning in designated areas. This system enables precise temperature control in smaller sections of the building, supporting flexible working hours by allowing independent climate control of specified zones. To further ensure round-the-clock efficiency for a flexi-work life, the building is 5G-enabled and fitted with cutting-edge technology. For example, tenants are empowered with seamless workplace access through facial recognition technology and visitor management via smart devices and a mobile app.
In recognition of its top-of-the-line digital infrastructure, Keppel South Central has been certified both WiredScore Platinum and SmartScore Platinum by global digital connectivity rating scheme, WiredScore.
Keppel South Central is also WELL Core Pre-certified. The WELL Building Standard, managed by public benefit corporation IWBI, aims to enhance the well-being and productivity of building occupants. As part of its commitment towards building occupant wellness, Keppel will apply for the platinum certification, the highest WELL Core rating, for Keppel South Central upon its completion.
This vision of a futuristic workspace is realised through world-class design and strategic location. The tower is designed by global architecture and design firm NBBJ, which counts the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation headquarters and the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Expo Center among its portfolio of creations.
Strategically located for urban connectivity
When completed, Keppel South Central will connect the CBD to the upcoming Greater Southern Waterfront, playing a key role in the transformation and integration of urban living in the area.
When it comes to transport, there are lots of commuting options: Tanjong Pagar, and upcoming Cantonment and Prince Edward Road MRT stations are all but a few minutes’ walk away while a short drive will take you onto the Central and Ayer Rajah Expressways.
With its innovative, flexible and people-centric urban space solutions, Keppel South Central will enable people to work seamlessly anywhere, anytime, in the way that they want, paving the way as the workplace of the future.
