Frasers Property's Rivière starts at S$2,580 psf; preview opens today

FRASERS Property Singapore will open its latest project, luxury residential development Rivière, for preview on Saturday.

The development, located on Jiak Kim Street alongside the refurbished former premises of popular nightclub Zouk, will have 455 units spread across two 36-storey towers.

The one- to four-bedroom apartments will range from 560 square feet to 2,002 sq ft in size. Construction is expected to be completed by 2023.

Prices start at S$2,580 per sq ft at this 99-year leasehold property, which is to be launched in phases from July 2019.

Frasers Property Singapore chief executive officer Christopher Tang, referring to the Singapore River location, described the apartment's setting as "beautiful". "Every great city has an iconic river, and so does Singapore. With Rivière, we have thoughtfully set out to create a space that would take full advantage of its rare and significant location," he said.

With the lowest unit sitting 18 metres or six stories above ground level, every resident would have unimpeded river views, he said.

Residents will be able to visit the development's Sky Deck, a communal area on the 37th floor offering panoramic views of the Singapore skyline, along with dining options, a herb garden and two spas.

Homes in Rivière will be members of a fully-equipped "smart" community; they will be kitted out with features such as mobile access to common facilities, smart letter-boxes and an integrated smart home system.

Aside from the residential portion, Frasers Property is also looking to develop a bustling community in the immediate vicinity.

This larger development consists of three conserved godowns formerly used by Zouk, and newly-built serviced apartments. The godowns (meaning "warehouses") will, in the next chapter of their history, house a specialised grocery store, food and beverage outlets and more.

With the 100-year-old Jiak Kim Street being conserved and integrated into the community along with the godowns, what were formerly important hubs for Singapore's trading community will now be revamped to include a heritage trail and other community spaces.

SCDA Architect's principal architect Soo K. Chan, who designed Rivière, said it important to tie the past with the future: "Rivière is grounded in history. In designing the development, we aimed to bring together the surrounding natural landscape, and the bustling community around it.

"One of the product concepts that we had was to capture this duality - historical significance together with modernity."

Rivière is within walking distance of three Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) stations: the future Great World City and Havelock stations, slated for opening in 2021, are just a two-minute walk away; Fort Canning station is a six-minute drive away.

Frasers Property shares closed on Friday at S$1.80, two Singapore cents higher than the previous day's close.
