Millennium & Copthorne signs four Madinah hotels in Saudi Arabia
MILLENNIUM & Copthorne Hotels (M&C) in the Middle East has signed four hotels in Madinah, as part of its continuing expansion into Saudi Arabia. Ranging in size from 600 to 1,000 rooms, the properties will include two Millennium hotels, as well as a Studio M and Millennium Executive Apartments, said M&C on Thursday.
The properties will be part of Knowledge Economic City (KEC), a US$7 billion development which will feature an academy and campus, museum, wellness centre, retail, commercial offices, residential housing, and a mosque housing 10,000 worshippers. KEC is located five kilometres east of the Holy Haram in Madinah, and aims to attract and develop global talent for Saudi Arabia.
M&C is the London-listed subsidiary of Singapore property giant City Developments Limited (CDL). Both CDL and M&C are members of the Hong Leong Group of companies.
