Raffles Hotel GM: Recovery to pre-Covid levels likely only in 2023 or 2024
Singapore
STAFF of Raffles Hotel Singapore who were placed on extended leave of absence in June have returned to work progressively since staycations resumed in Singapore, and the hotel got busy with its "manpower-intensive" mooncake promotions.
But Christian Westbeld, general manager at the hotel, expects a drawn-out recovery. A return to pre-Covid levels of activity is likely only to come in 2023 or 2024, he said, even if the situation in Singapore has turned a corner on the back of the government's support schemes and a positive momentum in reopening.
