CALL it gentrification. Regeneration real estate projects are becoming the latest buzz among London developers as they partner authorities to try and ease the city's housing shortage by replacing dated and poorly designed homes and re-zoning low-value industrial land.
The most famous example is probably the transformation underway in the Nine Elms area. At the heart of it is the Battersea Power Station, which lay derelict for decades before its Malaysian owners decided to spruce up the area with shops, offices, luxury apartments and penthouses.
