Siemens is planning sale, leaseback of headquarters in Portugal

[LISBON] Siemens is seeking offers for the sale and leaseback of its headquarters in Lisbon, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The German company received non-binding offers at the end of March for the Siemens Campus Alfragide, said the sources, who asked not to be named because the information is confidential. Potential bidders will soon have a chance to submit binding offers, they said.
Real estate broker CBRE is advising Siemens on the sale, the sources said.
A Siemens spokesperson said the company is constantly reviewing its portfolio but cannot provide any information about individual properties.
The campus consists of five office buildings, one canteen building and one medical facility, according to the company’s website. The Siemens hub covers an area equal to 10 football fields and employs about 2,800 people in businesses including energy, mobility and information technology.
Siemens is among a handful of multinational companies that have established hubs in the Portuguese capital in recent years. Other firms with hubs in the Lisbon area include Google and Mercedes-Benz. BLOOMBERG
