BEHIND the iron door of a ground-floor flat in Madrid's working-class suburb of Vallecas, around 30 people have gathered as Veronica Hidalgo announces she will be evicted from her home this year.
They take turns to speak, standing shoulder to shoulder in the face of an economic crisis that began in 2008 and continues to drag on for them.
