THE latest industry technologies and smart solutions aimed at enhancing digital transformation in the built environment sector will be showcased in late October at the Singapore Expo's MAX Atria.

Organised by Sphere Exhibits, a subsidiary of BT's parent Singapore Press Holdings, the eighth edition of building and construction industry trade exhibition BuildTech Asia will be held from Oct 22-24. The exhibition is also supported by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and industry stakeholders.

Speaking to The Business Times, Chua Wee Phong, chairman of Sphere Exhibits, said: "In keeping with the times, it is essential for the construction sector to keep up with relevant cutting-edge technologies which will empower professionals to remain productive and profitable within the construction value chain."

Exhibitions of these latest technologies will be held in conjunction with those on construction machinery, equipment, materials and architectural solutions.

Sphere Exhibits said that BuildTech Asia will feature around 200 international and regional brands, "as well as close to 10,000 high-level attendees in construction, architecture, infrastructure facilities and design from Singapore and neighbouring countries".

Exhibitors will be showcasing solutions across these five exhibit profiles which cover onsite construction machinery and equipment; productive technologies; building materials and architectural solutions; quality finishes and facilities management.

The weekend of the trade show will also coincide with three industry-related conferences held at BuildTech Asia.

They are the Built Environment Summit 2018 organised by the Singapore Contractors Association; the Build Smart Conference 2018 organised by BCA; and the Facilities Management Conference, a two-day programme organised by the Singapore Institute of Building and Sphere Exhibits.
