CapitaLand tops out Raffles City Chongqing

REAL estate developer CapitaLand has topped out the eighth and final skyscraper of Raffles City Chongqing in China, with the 1.12 million square-metre project that sits on the historic Chaotianmen site on track to open in the second half of 2019.
On Monday, it was announced that the development's 250-metre high sky bridge, called The Crystal, had been completed.
This sky bridge is billed as the world's highest and links six of Raffles City Chongqing's skyscrapers, and will feature the tallest observation deck in Western China.
In a statement, CapitaLand's president (China and Investment Management) Lucas Loh gave an update on Raffles City Chongqing's take-up rate so far.
To date, three residential towers with a total of 772 units have been launched, of which 72 per cent have been sold.
The five-storey shopping mall will have some 450 retailers on board. Among the anchor retail tenants committed are Chinese electric vehicle company NIO, cinema chain CGV, bookstore chain Yanjiyou, and gourmet supermarket operator Ole'.
Once complete, there will be 150,000 sq m of Grade A office space, about 1,400 residential apartments, an Ascott serviced residence, and an InterContinental hotel.
"The successful topping out of Raffles City Chongqing represents a new milestone in CapitaLand's track record of building well-designed integrated spaces," said Mr Loh
"It demonstrates our multi-faceted capabilities in delivering a vertically-built riverfront urban district seamlessly integrated with a major transportation hub comprising ferry, subway and bus stations."
