Developers sold 1,252 private homes in Oct, more than double 509 units in Sept: URA

DEVELOPERS' housing sales rose last month over the preceding month as well as on a year-on-year basis, show latest government numbers.
In the private housing segment, excluding executive condos or ECs, developers sold 1,252 units in October 2016, up from the 509 units they moved in the preceding month and 549 units they sold in October last year.
Including ECs, which are a public-private housing hybrid, developers found buyers for 1,540 units in October 2016, again higher than the 769 units in September 2016 and 824 units in October 2015.
At Forest Woods, a private condo project in Lorong Lew Lian near Serangoon MRT Station, 364 units were sold last month at a median price of S$1,412 per square foot (psf). At The Alps, a condo in Tampines, 334 units were sold last month at S$1,078 psf median price.
The above figures were released by Urban Redevelopment Authority on Tuesday based on information collated from licensed housing developers.
