WHEN Deloitte’s predecessor audit firm was established in Singapore in 1967, the country was just a fledging nation, having attained its independence two years before. Fast forward some six decades, Singapore has transformed from a developing country into a first world developed economy while Deloitte is now a professional services firm with a regional platform that focuses on all 10 countries in ASEAN.

Deloitte’s growth story is deeply intertwined with Singapore’s progress. The firm’s journey is rooted in trust, driven by collaboration, and fuelled by the belief that meaningful change happens when people move forward together. As Deloitte proudly declares in a new global tagline: Together Makes Progress.

“As the region’s economic and financial hub, Singapore anchors our efforts across Southeast Asia,” says Eugene Ho, CEO of Deloitte Southeast Asia. “Drawing on our extensive network as the largest professional services firm globally and in Asia Pacific, we are well-positioned to help clients grow and navigate today’s complexities. Our aspiration is to become the most global local firm for professional services – globally connected yet deeply rooted locally.”

    Progress with clients

Over the decades, Deloitte has forged enduring collaborations with businesses across many industries. As Singapore marks SG60, Deloitte is stepping forward as an innovator and collaborator. The firm’s core strength is its industry and sector knowledge and expertise, which it leverages to help clients navigate a fast-changing global environment.

One of Deloitte’s key roles is to ensure governance, manage risk, and reinforce confidence in financial markets. This is illustrated through its work with iconic clients such as CapitaLand Investment Ltd, where the firm has served as the auditor for the leading global real estate manager and all its listed funds for the financial year 2024.

Deloitte also supports UOB, one of Singapore’s leading banks, to enhance its risk management framework and strengthen the integrity and resilience of its operations.

Combining deep sector knowledge with operational and advisory excellence, Deloitte has also supported Singapore Airlines’ digital transformation efforts since 2021.

The firm also worked alongside industry stakeholders and government organisations to reinforce the backbone of Singapore’s financial sector. Deloitte supported the Association of Banks in Singapore and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in conducting an industry-wide business continuity exercise in 2024 to boost the crisis management capabilities and operational resilience of Singapore’s financial services industry.

Deloitte’s longstanding collaboration with government agencies has also been instrumental in shaping Singapore’s emergence as a global fintech hub. The firm was appointed in 2016 by MAS to develop a national FinTech blueprint. That strategic involvement led to Deloitte becoming a founding sponsor of the inaugural Singapore FinTech Festival, now the world’s largest platform for fintech innovation.

In 2021, the firm reinforced its leadership in sustainability. Working with the Singapore Institute of Directors, Deloitte became a founding member of Climate Governance Singapore. The initiative empowers board directors to embed climate considerations into business strategy, which is an increasingly critical component of long-term corporate success.

Singapore is also home to Deloitte Asia Pacific’s Centre for Excellence in Generative AI, which supports its regional clients to understand, implement and scale AI solutions. In 2025, Deloitte launched a pivotal report on Southeast Asia’s data centre infrastructure to support the growth of AI, examining applications, data platforms and the infrastructure needed to support the AI economy.

Deloitte is also preparing businesses for the quantum era. While many organisations are still grappling with developments in AI, Deloitte is taking pioneering steps to help its clients assess the risks of quantum computing, a next-frontier technology that is expected to revolutionise logistics, fraud detection and drug discovery.

In the growing space sector, Deloitte served as Anchor Partner of the Global Space Technology Convention & Exhibition. Alongside the Singapore Space & Technology Think Tank, Deloitte published a report outlining opportunities for both commercial and public sector entities ranging from satellite positioning and navigation to AI-powered data services.

    Progress with our people

Deloitte’s people have always been at the heart of the firm’s progress, with a “people first” philosophy that champions fair compensation, mobility, mentorship and meaningful career development.

In a move that underscores its commitment to shaping the future and ensuring the long-term vibrancy of the professional services industry, Deloitte Singapore led the way by raising starting salaries for accounting graduates in 2024. The move was aligned with national efforts to uplift the accountancy profession and attract top talent.

Deloitte is also working closely with the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, and other regulatory and professional bodies, alongside the accounting faculties at the universities, to develop programmes and opportunities to make accountancy an attractive career.

The firm has worked with educational institutions, Singapore Management University and Nanyang Technological University, to create modules, such as Audit Analytics and Sustainability Assurance electives, that add value to the accountancy profession in today’s evolving landscape.

Deloitte empowers its people with unique learning & development experiences. The firm has set up Singapore-based Deloitte University Asia Pacific, a world-class leadership and learning hub designed to cultivate future-ready professionals through immersive development programmes. With this initiative, the firm hopes to equip its talent with tools to deliver service excellence to clients across the region and ensure that Deloitte remains a place where leaders thrive and ideas prosper.

Beyond classroom training, Deloitte invests in apprenticeship models, cross-border secondments and leadership pathways that give its employees exposure and mentorship. These experiences are designed to hone their industry knowledge and expertise, cultivate technical skills, and nurture human-centred leadership.

Deloitte’s Amplify Programme, launched across its Southeast Asia practices in 2025, offers pathways for both graduates and mid-career professionals to transition into the professional services sector. Participants gain skills, client exposure and meaningful starts in purpose-driven careers.

Through its Deloitte Ignite initiative, over 170 Team Singapore elite athletes have been employed by Deloitte since 2015, allowing them to build careers while pursuing sporting excellence. These athletes include Olympians Amanda Ng, Cecilia Low, Derek Wong, Kimberly Lim, Shanti Pereira, and seven-time Paralympic gold medallist Yip Pin Xiu.

Deloitte also actively participates in Sport Singapore’s spexBusiness Network, aiding athletes in planning for life after sport. The firm believes these initiatives will support athletes to unlock their potential with opportunities that are lasting and real.

Alan Goh, CEO, Sport Singapore, said, “Deloitte has empowered Team Singapore athletes to excel in both sport and career through flexible working arrangements and career-development opportunities. This is a positive example that shows that sporting excellence and professional careers can go hand in hand.”

Progress with Singapore and the community

Deloitte understands that the success of business and society are intertwined, and it is committed to playing its part create a more equitable and resilient future.

To help women further their careers, Deloitte launched a SheXO Program to champion diversity and parity at the highest levels of leadership. It provides a supportive ecosystem for women to grow, connect, and drive meaningful change. In addition, Deloitte’s Board Ready Women Program for women in senior leadership roles supports their personal and professional development by providing them with the technical knowledge and personal branding strategies essential for success.

Deloitte’s impact extends far beyond the boardroom. As a purpose-led organisation, it remains committed to being a force for good.

Since 2018, the firm has been recognised annually as a Champion of Good by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC). This is the highest accolade for corporate giving and community engagement in Singapore.

Celebrating SG60, Deloitte is supporting local charity SPD to establish two Early Intervention Centres for children with developmental delays. Targeting to raise S$700,000, the firm is organising a 60-hour run this August, with employees covering a combined 6,000km to symbolise collective effort and unity in motion. This initiative also aligns with Singapore’s ongoing national effort to encourage philanthropy.

“Deloitte hopes to uplift society and support the Singapore government on key issues on the national agenda, whether it’s fostering inclusivity for persons with disabilities, building a stronger sports ecosystem, or expanding access to the arts,” says Shariq Barmaky, Country Managing Partner, Deloitte Singapore.

Over recent decades, Deloitte has also supported various sporting achievements for Singapore. It has provided sponsorships and professional services expertise for global events, including the Youth Olympic Games in 2010, the Southeast Asian Games in 2015, and as a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner – the only professional services firm to hold this distinction. Locally, Deloitte has been working with Netball Singapore since 2015 to grow the sport in Singapore and provide career opportunities to elite netballers.

The arts, too, have found a steadfast advocate in Deloitte. Since 2018, the firm has collaborated with the Singapore Repertory Theatre to make live performances accessible to younger audiences. For this, Deloitte has earned the Friend of the Arts (Corporate) Award from the National Arts Council for six consecutive years.

As Singapore continues to grow its economy and shape its future, Deloitte remains steadfast in its mission to make an impact that matters – for its clients, its people and the communities it serves.

“Our aim is to bring the strength, scale and expertise of the largest professional services firm in the world and make it fit for purpose for our clients in the markets that we serve. Be it through navigating the intricacies of the geopolitical landscape, adapting a new language to thrive in an era of digital transformation, to dealing with the very real impacts of climate change, we strive to remain at the forefront of developing the most innovative solutions to solve the world’s greatest challenges – together,” Ho says.
