Changi Airport’s Q2 passenger traffic up 5.9%
Top markets are China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and India; cargo up 6.2%
[SINGAPORE] Changi Airport posted 17.5 million passenger movements in the second quarter of 2025, an increase of 5.9 per cent compared to the previous corresponding period.
Operator Changi Airport Group reported on Tuesday (Jul 22) that aircraft movements, which include take-offs and landings, stood at 93,600 – reflecting a 4.9 per cent increase over the same period.
In the quarter, the top markets for passenger traffic were China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and India. Growth in the top two markets, China and Indonesia, were 15.8 and 12 per cent, respectively.
There were 516,000 tonnes of air freight throughput, a 6.2 per cent increase compared to the year-ago period. Imports increased by 8 per cent. In air cargo, Changi’s top markets were China, the US, Hong Kong, Australia and India.
In airline operations, Myanmar National Airlines, Myanmar Airways International, Philippine Airlines and T’Way Air will begin operating from Terminal 2 in the coming months, from July.
Before the change, Myanmar National Airlines and T’Way Air operated from Terminal 3, while Myanmar Airways International and Philippine Airlines operated from Terminal 1.
As at Jul 1, around 100 airlines operate more than 7,200 weekly scheduled flights at Changi, with connections to around 170 cities.
