AS AT the end of July, 24,000 job seekers have been placed under the SGUnited Jobs and Skills package, said the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) on Tuesday, in the first of a series of weekly updates on the job situation.
"Every week, we will cover different aspects of the job situation," said Manpower Minister Josephine Teo, noting that data on placement and opportunities might not change much week to week. Instead, future updates will highlight still-hiring sectors and opportunities for job seekers, or provide updates on retrenchments and cost-saving measures by firms, to keep the public informed.
