Biomed cushions dip in manufacturing output for January

But sector's figure is down 7 per cent if volatile biomed segment is excluded


MANUFACTURING output may have declined by a less-than-anticipated 0.5 per cent year-on-year in January, but economists remain unimpressed.

With growth largely propped up by the volatile biomedical manufacturing cluster, they warn that the underlying trend for industrial production remains weak.
