Japan firms' RHQs keep popping up here

ALTHOUGH many Japanese companies cite tax incentives for setting up regional headquarters (RHQs) in Singapore, only a minority have enjoyed tax benefits, according to a recent survey by the Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro). Notwithstanding this, Jetro also found that this has not proven a deterrent as Japanese companies still keep coming here.
Jetro, Japan's national trade and investment promoter, polled 185 Japanese companies in Singapore and found that nearly half (90) have RHQs here and over a quarter (52) said they were thinking of setting them up.
