SINGAPORE'S manufacturing sector continues to churn out jobs despite the current crisis, with the bulk of the jobs going to professionals, managers, executives and technicians, a group collectively called the PMETs.
Manpower Minister Josephine Teo told reporters on Wednesday, after a visit to the headquarters of global technology company Becton Dickinson Asia-Pacific, that nearly 1,000 manufacturing firms are offering more than 6,300 jobs, traineeship, attachment and training opportunities to Singaporeans.
