DOWNWARD pressures on machinery & equipment (M&E) investments - and hence, Singapore's overall investment in capital - will likely remain in the near term, said the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) on Wednesday.
This is especially given continued uncertainties in the global economy, as well as the sluggish outlook for the manufacturing sector amid weak global demand.
