Review of ministerial salaries targeted for 2023: Chan Chun Sing
THE next political salaries review is targeted to take place this year, said Minister-in-charge of the Public Service Chan Chun Sing, in response to a parliamentary question on Tuesday (Jan 10).
He was responding to Progress Singapore Party’s Hazel Poa who asked if a committee has been appointed to conduct the five-yearly review and when the public can expect to see the report.
More details on the review will be shared in due course, said Chan in his reply.
The Committee to Review Ministerial Salaries was last formed in 2017 and it had concluded then that the salary framework remained relevant and sound.
In response to the last review, the government decided not to make any changes to political salaries, since the economy was still in transition, noted Chan. It had indicated that it would review the matter again after five years, or when it becomes necessary.
