[SINGAPORE] Singapore's industrial production probably rose in November from a year earlier, a Reuters survey showed, although the expansion was seen as tepid after data showed a slide in electronics exports.

The median forecast in the poll was for manufacturing output to rise 1.2 per cent in November from a year earlier, and expand 0.5 per cent from the previous month on a seasonally-adjusted basis.

A survey by the Singapore Institute of Purchasing & Materials Management published in early December showed that Singapore's manufacturing sector continued to expand in November. Growth tapered slightly from October, when the sector recorded its strongest expansion in 3-1/2 years.

Although Singapore's non-oil domestic exports rose 1.6 per cent in November from a year ago, electronics exports slid 10.2 per cent.
