Singapore Q3 labour productivity falls 0.8% y-o-y: MTI
SINGAPORE'S Q3 labour productivity fell 0.8 per cent from a year ago, slightly improved from the 1.4 per cent year-on-year drop in the second quarter of 2014.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) said on Tuesday morning that the finance & insurance and manufacturing sectors were the only ones to show productivity gains of 5.8 per cent and 2.1 per cent respectively, for the third quarter.
Labour-intensive sectors fared more poorly. The accommodation & food services sector reported a 3.5 per cent drop in productivity, while construction productivity fell 2.9 per cent.
