SINGAPORE’S international visitor arrivals grew for the 6th straight month in July, setting yet another record since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, going by the latest figures from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) on Friday (Aug 26).
There were 726,601 arrivals in July, up from 543,733 in June, though the new figure remains far below the 1.8 million recorded in July 2019 before the pandemic.
Govinda Singh, Colliers’ executive director for hotels and leisure in Asia, said that the growth “could have accelerated if not for the restrictions on airlift and capacity constraints at key inbound feeder markets such as London and Amsterdam”.
