Singaporean who returned from Indonesia among 13 new Covid-19 cases

[SINGAPORE] There were 13 new coronavirus cases confirmed as at Monday (Dec 7), taking Singapore's total to 58,273.
The new cases comprised one Singaporean, one permanent resident, 10 work permit holders and one dependant's pass holder.
The first, a 38-year-old Singaporean man who returned from Indonesia, experienced the onset of symptoms on Dec 4 and was confirmed positive on Dec 6.
The remaining 12 cases were asymptomatic.
The permanent resident is a 47-year-old woman arrived from India who is linked to a previous case.
The 10 work permit holders, who are currently employed in Singapore, travelled from India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Myanmar.

The dependant's pass holder is a 40-year-old Bangladeshi woman who arrived from Bangladesh.
All 13 new cases were imported. They had been placed on stay-home notices or isolated on arrival in Singapore, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).
There were no cases from worker's dormitories and none in the community.
MOH said the number of new cases in the community has remained low with a total of two cases in the past week, of which one is currently unlinked.
With eight cases discharged on Monday, 58,153 patients have fully recovered from the disease.
There are currently 76 active cases of Covid-19 infections.
A total of 28 patients remain in hospital, none in intensive care, while 48 are recuperating in community facilities.
Singapore has seen 29 deaths from complications arising from Covid-19, while 15 who tested positive have died of other causes.
Globally, the virus outbreak, which began in December last year, has infected more than 64.5 million people. More than 1.49 million people have died.
