SINGAPORE will restore the Vaccinated Travel Lane (Land) quota and streamline the measures for travellers under the quarantine-free travel arrangement via the Causeway, as the imported infections are now unlikely to affect the trajectory of local cases.
The multi-ministry task force announced on Wednesday (Feb 16) that the 50 per cent reduction in quota effective from last December will be reinstated from Feb 22. Additional bus tickets go on sale with immediate effect.
The streamlined border measures for travellers, taking effect at 11.59pm on Feb 21, will require only pre-departure and on-arrival tests. There will be no need for unsupervised self-swab Antigen Rapid Tests (ARTs) on the 2nd and 7th day after arrival.
For on-arrival test, they are only required to go for supervised self-swab ART within 24 hours of arrival at a Quick Test Centre or Combined Test Centre, instead of taking it at the bus terminal upon arrival.
Only work permit holders and short-term visitors eligible to travel via VTL will continue to have to apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP), but other long-term pass holders no longer need a VTP.
The travel history required will be shortened to 7 days from 14 days for travellers who have stayed in Singapore, Malaysia, any other VTL or low-infection (Category I) country or region.
