ERP rates to go up by S$1 at 4 locations from Jan 2; rates to be cut in 6 locations from Nov 24-Dec 31
The rates will return to their current ERP rates from Jan 2
[SINGAPORE] Motorists can expect the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates at four locations to increase by S$1 on Jan 2, said the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Nov 17.
These are the affected locations:
- On the AYE after North Buona Vista towards Tuas, motorists will pay S$1 between 5 pm and 5.30 pm.
- On the northbound CTE before PIE, motorists will pay S$1 between 5.30 pm and 7 pm.
- On the KPE (ECP) after Defu Flyover, motorists will pay S$5 between 8 am and 8.30 am.
- At the two gantries on the PIE (Kallang Bahru and the slip road into Bendemeer), motorists will pay S$1 between 7.30 am and 8.30 am and between 9.30 am and 10 am. The ERP rate will be S$2 from 9 am to 9.30 am.
LTA said it had monitored traffic conditions in October, and traffic was found to have built up at various stretches on expressways. The increase in rates is to manage congestion at these locations.
In addition, ERP rates at six locations will be temporarily reduced during the year-end school holiday period from Nov 24 to Dec 31.
The rates will return to their current ERP rates from Jan 2.
These are the affected locations:
- At the three gantries on the AYE after Jurong Town Hall towards the city, motorists will pay S$3 between 7.30 am and 8 am and S$2 between 5.30 pm and 6 pm.
- At the four gantries on the southbound CTE after Braddell Road and the PIE slip road into southbound CTE, motorists will pay S$1 between 7.30 am and 8 am, S$3 between 8 am and 8.30 am and S$2 between 9.30 am and 10 am.
- At the two gantries on the PIE (Adam and Mount Pleasant), motorists will pay S$1 between 7.30 am and 8 am.
- On the westbound PIE before Eunos Link, motorists will not have to pay the ERP fare between 7.30 am and 8.30 am.
- On the KPE (ECP) after Defu Flyover, motorists will not have to pay the ERP fare from 7 am to 7.30 am. Between 7.30 am and 8 am, motorists will pay S$2.
- On the southbound CTE auxiliary lane to PIE (Changi)/Serangoon Road, motorists will pay S$1 between 7.30 am and 8 am, S$2 between 8 am and 8.30 am, S$4 between 8.30 am and 9 am and S$3 between 9 am and 9.30 am.
LTA added that it will continue to monitor traffic speeds and congestion levels closely and assess if ERP rates need to be further adjusted. THE STRAITS TIMES
