[SINGAPORE] Come Sep 1, the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates at five locations will increase by S$1, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Wednesday (Aug 27).

    The affected locations are:

    • At the three gantries on the AYE after Jurong Town Hall towards the city, motorists will now pay S$4 between 7.30am and 8am.
    • On the AYE after North Buona Vista towards Tuas, motorists will now pay S$3 between 5.30pm and 6pm, and S$2 between 6.30pm and 7pm.
    • On the southbound CTE before Braddell Road, motorists will now pay S$3 between 8am and 8.30am.
    • At the two gantries on the northbound CTE after the PIE, motorists will now pay S$4 between 6.30pm and 7pm, and S$3 between 7pm and 7.30pm.
    • At the two gantries on the PIE (Kallang Bahru and the slip road into Bendemeer), motorists will now pay S$3 between 8.30am and 9am.

If a location lists multiple gantries, motorists will only have to pay at one of them.

LTA said it had monitored traffic conditions in July, and traffic was found to have been built up at various stretches of expressways.

The increase in rates was carried out to manage congestion at these locations.

There is no change to the rates for other gantries.

LTA added that it will continue to monitor traffic speeds and congestion levels closely, and based on its findings, determine if ERP rates need to be further adjusted in the future.

At the moment, it is “closely monitoring” traffic conditions along the northbound CTE and southbound KPE, as speeds have been “persistently” lower than the optimal speed range of 45 to 65km/h. THE STRAITS TIMES
