SWIFTIES from the Philippines snapped up activity-booking platform Klook’s Taylor Swift concert experience packages on Friday (Jul 7), clinching the top spot among customers based on countries of origin.
The packages, released at noon on Friday in pairs of tickets bundled with one-night stays at four- and five-star hotels, were sold out in six hours. The packages featured over 40 hotels and distributed tickets across 12 ticket categories.
Queried by The Business Times, Klook declined to disclose the number of packages offered for sale to Swift’s The Eras Tour concert.
Next on the list of top-origin countries was Singapore, followed by Indonesia and China. Malaysia rounded out the top five sources of customers.
Prices for the bundles ranged from S$542 to S$4,977. The packages with Category 1 tickets – the most expensive ones at S$348 each – paired with stays in four- and five-star hotels, sold out within two hours.
Packages for stays at InterContinental bundled with Category 1 tickets were the first to sell out, followed by Grand Copthorne Waterfront with Category 2 tickets, and Crowne Plaza Changi Airport with Category 1 tickets.
“We expected immense demand, but it’s safe to say that was an understatement, with more than 600,000 fans from across the region eagerly waiting in line and willing to spend more than S$1,700 on our experience packages,” said Sarah Wan, general manager of Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore at Klook, which is billed as an “official experience partner” for the shows.
Swift will perform on six nights, from Mar 2 to Mar 9, 2024, at Singapore’s National Stadium.
