Fire breaks out on Evergreen container vessel at PSA Pasir Panjang Terminal
No injuries reported as a container on cargo vessel Ever Lenient catches fire
[SINGAPORE] A fire was reported on a container vessel belonging to shipping company Evergreen Marine at Singapore’s PSA Pasir Panjang Terminal on Friday (Apr 10).
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said in a statement it was alerted to a container fire on the London-registered vessel Ever Lenient at 3 pm.
PSA’s Emergency Response Team, Singapore Civil Defence Force firefighters – including vessels from its Marine Division – were on site, along with three MPA patrol craft.
At the time the statement was issued, at around 11 pm, firefighting efforts were still ongoing.
MPA added that there has been no impact to port operations at the terminal, and no injuries or oil pollution have been reported.
According to Veselfinder.com, the Ever Lenient is a 334.8 m long container vessel built in 2014 and owned by Taiwan shipping line Evergreen Marine.
