GE2025: COO of Shalom Movers, director of battery business introduced as new faces for PAP in Sembawang GRC
[SINGAPORE] Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung announced two new faces for Sembawang GRC on Saturday (Mar 29) ahead of the upcoming General Election.
They were unveiled at an OCBC SeniorCare event at Bukit Canberra.
The likely candidates are Gabriel Lam, chief operating officer of moving company Shalom International Movers, and Ng Shi Xuan, director of battery company Powermark Battery and Hardware.
At the event, where OCBC commited S$2 million to a seniors programme, both candidates introduced themselves to the roughly 1,000 elderly present and said that they were excited to get to know the residents.
Sembawang GRC is currently helmed by Ong, who is the anchor minister; Poh Li San; Vikram Nair; Mariam Jaafar and Dr Lim Wee Kiak.
It is split into five divisions: Woodlands, Admiralty, Canberra, Sembawang Central and Sembawang West. Sembawang West will be carved out as a single-member constituency (SMC) at the general election due by November.
Opposition parties National Solidarity Party and Singapore Democratic Party have staked their claims in Sembawang GRC and the new Sembawang West SMC.
