[SINGAPORE] LinkedIn on Tuesday (Apr 8) unveiled a list of top 15 employers in Singapore in its 2025 edition, picking companies for their ability to advance employees and grow skills, among other factors.

The networking giant said this ranking is “data-backed” and comprises the 15 best workplaces for professionals in Singapore “to grow their careers right now”.

Financial institutions and tech companies dominated the list, which is now in its fifth edition. DBS is at the top spot for the third year running, and global banks Standard Chartered and JPMorgan Chase are repeat entrants.

Chinese tech giant Bytedance also made it to the list.

“These top companies are looking for technically fluent professionals who can work across teams, think critically, adapt quickly and grow with the business,” said Serla Rusli, career expert at LinkedIn.

Six in 10 professionals in Singapore said they are open to pivoting into a new role or industry this year, and almost a third plan to pick up skills to help fuel the shift, said LinkedIn.

Finding a job has evolved into seeking a workplace that focuses on long-term growth. Here are the eight factors that LinkedIn used to rank the companies on elements of career progression:

    • Ability to advance, which tracks employee promotions within a company and when they move to a new one
    • Skills growth, which looks at how employees are gaining skills
    • Company stability, which tracks employee attrition and the percentage of employees that stay at least three years
    • External opportunity, which looks at LinkedIn Recruiter outreach across employees
    • Company affinity, which measures supportiveness of company culture
    • Gender diversity, which measures gender parity within a company and its subsidiaries
    • Educational background, which examines variety of educational attainment among employees
    • Employee presence, which looks at number of employees in the country relative to other companies

Organisations that had layoffs of 10 per cent or more of their workforce between the start of 2024 and the list’s launch on Tuesday were not eligible.

Besides financial institutions, consulting and technology firms made notable appearances. The healthcare and life sciences sector was also on an upward trajectory with Roche, Novartis and MSD, reflecting growing career opportunities in the biomedical field.

Employers are increasingly looking for adaptability and a growth mindset, LinkedIn noted.

Lee Yan Hong, managing director and head of group human resources at DBS, said: “Beyond technical capabilities, we believe the ability to connect the dots, embrace a growth mindset, and demonstrate agility will be critical in a world of high-tech and high-touch jobs.”
