[SINGAPORE] Electricity tariffs for households for the period of Oct 1 to Dec 31 this year, prior to goods and services tax (GST), will go up by 0.3 per cent, or 0.08 Singapore cent per kWh, from what it was in the previous quarter.

The increase, rooted in higher energy costs, will push household electricity tariffs to 27.55 cents per kWh in Q4, from 27.47 cents in the quarter prior.

The average monthly electricity bill for families living in HDB four-room flats will rise by 31 cents before GST.

In a statement on Tuesday (Sep 30), SP Group said electricity tariffs may fluctuate from quarter to quarter, in light of “volatile global fuel prices driven by geopolitical factors”.

The overall electricity tariff, before GST and which includes the tariffs on non-households, will also rise by an average of 0.3 per cent or 0.08 cent per kWh from the levels in the quarter before.

SP Group reviews the electricity tariffs every quarter, based on guidelines set by the electricity industry regulator, the Energy Market Authority.
