Man to be charged over threatening to crash aircraft he was boarding at Changi Airport
He will be charged on two counts of using threatening words to cause alarm
A 36-YEAR-OLD Australian man will be charged over making threats against a flight he was aboard, said the Singapore Police Force on Sunday (Dec 8).
He had boarded a flight scheduled to depart from Changi Airport on Nov 23 and allegedly said to a member of the cabin crew that he wanted to crash the aircraft.
He was then removed from the flight and escorted to a holding room, where he repeated the threat. Police did not release his name or details of the flight he was boarding.
He will be charged on Monday on two counts of using threatening words causing alarm under Section 4(2) of the Protection from Harassment Act 2014. Those convicted may be fined up to S$5,000 for each offence.
