MTI appoints new deputy chairman at STB, board changes at CCCS
THE Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) has announced Olivier Lim as deputy chairman of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), along with other changes to the boards of STB and the Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS).
All new appointments will take effect from Jan 1, 2023, MTI said on Thursday (Dec 29). Lim is chairman of security services provider Certis and online property portal PropertyGuru. He is also lead independent director at DBS, and chairs the bank’s board risk management committee. Rajeev Menon, president of Asia-Pacific (excluding Greater China) at Marriott International, was appointed as a board member at STB. Additionally, three STB board members were reappointed: Chaly Mah Chee Kheong, current STB chairman; Audrey Kuah, head of group marketing, global consumer financial services at OCBC; and Wong Ai Ai, principal at Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow. Deputy Attorney-General Ang Cheng Hock, a former High Court judge, was separately appointed as a board member at competition watchdog CCCS. Jasmmine Wong, chief executive of Greater China and Singapore at car distributor Inchcape, was appointed to CCCS’ board as well. Meanwhile, re-appointed to the CCCS board are: Cindy Khoo Seow Chyng, deputy secretary, strategy group at the Prime Minister’s Office; Faizal Bin Yahya, senior research fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies, National University of Singapore; Loo Siew Yee, assistant managing director of policy, payments and crime at the Monetary Authority of Singapore; and CCCS chief executive Sia Aik Kor. Four CCCS board members will be stepping down upon their completion of their term on Dec 31. They are: Euston Quah, head of economics at Nanyang Technological University; Kan Yut Keong, Benjamin, a retired accountant; Wong Poh Kam, emeritus professor at NUS; and Deputy Attorney-General Hri Kumar Nair. Meanwhile, Mohamad Saiful Saroni, partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, will step down from the board of STB at the end of his term on Dec 31.
