[SINGAPORE] Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will be in mainland China from Wednesday (Mar 25) until Mar 28 to deliver a keynote address at a high-profile regional forum, before travelling to Hong Kong for a series of engagements with political and business leaders.
In Hainan, PM Wong will give the keynote speech at the opening plenary of the 2026 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA). The annual conference is often dubbed the “Asian Davos”.
This year’s theme is “Shaping a Shared Future: New Dynamics, New Opportunities, New Cooperation”.
He will attend a welcome dinner hosted by the Hainan government and BFA Secretariat, and also hold bilateral meetings with Zhao Leji, chairman of the National People’s Congress, and Feng Fei, secretary of the Chinese Communist Party’s Hainan Provincial Committee.
In Hong Kong, Chief Executive John Lee will host PM Wong for lunch. The prime minister will also meet with political and business leaders there, as well as visit key sites to better understand the city’s economic and development trajectory, and to explore new opportunities for collaboration.
PM Wong will also engage the Singaporean community in Hong Kong at a reception.

He will be accompanied by Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Sim Ann; Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, and Culture, Community and Youth Low Yen Ling; and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and National Development Syed Harun Alhabsyi.
He will also be joined by officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Ministry for Trade and Industry, and Ministry for National Development.
In his absence, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs K Shanmugam will serve as acting prime minister.
