SGTech launches guide to help SMEs better leverage GenAI
SGTECH on Wednesday (Jan 24) launched a job and skills guide to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) better leverage generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in their business.
The guide, which was done in partnership with SkillsFuture Singapore and AI Singapore, covers the use of GenAI in business solutions, technology talent profiles and GenAI skills required for employees.
It also contains resources on the kind of support business owners need to adopt GenAI for their business and staff.
Use cases highlighted include using GenAI to create customised tests and conducting “life-like” interviews when selecting talent, ingesting large data sets to power chatbots, and using GenAI to coach and train AI developers.
SGTech flagged rising demand for applied AI skills such as data analysis and data visualisation. Common skills utilised by GenAI startups and companies also include programming and coding, applications development and AI application.
“This is currently a bottleneck as there are insufficient junior professionals with strong data validation skills who can discern correct syntax and codes,” it noted in its guide.

The guide is part of a wider initiative that encourages the use of GenAI in both technology and non-tech sectors, with a focus on upskilling, SGTech said. The tech trade association had received input from 30 companies to develop the guide.
