One of the leading Singapore petrochemical firms uses proprietary software to stay ahead of the competition.

WITH a sprawling setup including three factories in Singapore and multiple overseas sales offices, Aik Moh Paints and Chemicals now employs over 100 people in the Asia-Pacific region, and has cemented its position as one of the leading petrochemical companies in the market. However, things haven't always been this way for the local SME.
Having been set up back in 1980, Aik Moh started off as a small shop at Jalan Besar Road selling household paints to consumers. It employed just five people, and rather than manufacturing its own products, simply acted as a reseller for larger paint brands. Indeed, it's been quite the journey for Aik Moh and their general manager, Roy Tan.
"The whole evolution took us 40 years," said Mr Tan with a smile.
