IT'S been said that just the appearance of a security system can sufficiently deter thieves from breaking into a house. The more robust the security system, the less likely you are to fall prey to an attack.

Similarly in the digital world, cyber attackers target companies with weak defences, as the effort required to infiltrate the system will be minimal. Hackers are more likely to abandon an attack if they need to spend a significant amount of time and the payoff is not worth it. In fact, even just an increase of two days to the time required to conduct a successful cyber attack can eliminate as much as 60 per cent of all attacks, according to a survey sponsored by Palo Alto Networks.
