Dedicated digital venues amp up the virtual event game
Local event management firms have developed solutions that will ensure online events are comparable to their on-site counterparts.
THE right venue is crucial to a successful business event, but many organisers have settled for less-than-ideal digital venues for their online events during the Covid-19 pandemic. Low-quality video, technical issues and limited options to customise branding and event features have somehow been deemed acceptable, to the chagrin of event management firms that pride themselves on delivering top-notch experiences.
As physical events capped at 250 pax resume this month and organisers adopt the "hybrid" event format, these companies are determined not to let the online event be sidelined as the "ugly stepsister" to its on-site counterpart.
To that end, they have spent the last few months developing their own digital venue solutions, such as integrated hosting platforms, extended reality (xR) studios and virtual reality capabilities to upgrade the online event experience.
