The Hainan Story comes full circle as it takes Singapore-Hainanese cuisine to China
The F&B chain also plans on entering the Philippine and Indonesian markets, and on retailing its beverages and foods in ready-to-eat form
JUST four years after it began, home-grown food and beverage (F&B) chain The Hainan Story is looking at opening its first two overseas chapters in the Philippines and China in 2025.
From a single restaurant that opened in late 2020, The Hainan Story now has a total of 13 outlets across four chain concepts: restaurants, fast-casual coffee houses, bakeries and takeaway kiosks.
Founder Lem Cheong sees the brand approaching a “saturation point” in Singapore – so heading abroad is the next natural step.
