From heartlands to Hanoi: Summer Acai set to bring its recipe for success overseas

Instead of aiming for the city crowd, its 12 outlets across Singapore are all in heartland areas

    ACAI bowls might be associated with well-heeled athleisure-clad gym-goers, but Summer Acai’s regular customers are students and families in the heartlands instead.

    The company aims to provide an affordable option in a sea of pricier competitors, co-founder Jasmine Oh said.

    “Acai in Singapore has always been ‘premium’ and the stores (selling it) were always located away from the heartlands,” she told The Business Times.
